What are California driving tests like?

california dmv can be a bit hetic most times, hot, muggy, and claustrophobic. my experience with the dmv was not too bad, except for the long strenous wait. Most california dmvs are somewhat strict. I personally didnt pass my written test till the 2nd try, and my behind wheel till 2nd also. Written Test wise be advised questions are tricky.

They require basic knowledge of traffic laws, signs, etc. They will have you parallel park, signal, and use other basic functions of the car.

The California driving test seems to be well done considering the demands needed to review every new driver entering the system. We were anticipating a long wait in order to get a test date however we were suprised that even with the state cutbacks we can get a test much sooner.
