Atoms are the minuscule particles that form molecules, which form elements, which form objects or organisms. Atoms are made up of a nucleus containing protons and neutrons surrounded by a cloud of, smaller, rapidly moving electrons. Atoms are held together by powerful chemical bonds that, when broken, release energy.

Atoms are the basic unit of matter, they have a nuclues contains protons, neutrons(except hydrogen-1). Outside the nucleus, there are electrons. Inside protons and neutrons, there are some quarks.
