Modern tires are constructed by layering layers of rubber and steel banding to a certain thickness. In a 4 ply tire there are 4 alternating layers of steel and rubber. The more ply's the more durable the tire is, this durability makes the tire stiffer though so it can affect handling.

4-ply tires are tires for vehicles that have basically 4 layers of rubber or whatever material is in those specific tires like 4 ply bathroom tissue or 2 ply facial tissue. the more or higher the ply, or amount of layers, the stronger or tougher the product turns out and is more durable.

Well that refer to the number of layers of material used in the tire. The factory layers reinforcement material to make the rubber stronger by staking it behind the rubber.

Four ply simply means 4 layers. In a tire the plys are made up of rubber and steel banding. The are two of each alternating in a 4 ply tire. It is considered that the more plys there are the better the tire will be. The number of layers makes the tire stiffer and less likey to wear out quickly.

4 ply tires mean that they have 4 plies of steel bands in the tires and that they are safer than a 2 or 3 ply tire.
