The shifter is stuck on my Isuzu Rodeo.What do do?

You can first check under the stick shift. Look for anything that may or may not be obstructing the use of the shifter. Then you may want to check under the automobile itself to see for the same thing. Sometimes sticks and shifters become loose or they do indeed stick and need to be loosened.

Pop the hood and there is a little pin that connects to the transmission. Take that pin off and put it back on to see if it resets the shifter.

Stick your hand under the dash and feel for the transmission-shift-lock cable. Jiggle it around a bit gently in all different directions. Another option is to start the car in neutral. If neither of these methods work, it may be time to take it to your favorite mechanic or the dealership. Good luck.

Ensure that the key is in the "On" position. Next, ensure that the brake and/or clutch pedals are fully depressed, and try to shift. If it still does not shift, check to make sure the vehicle has adequate transmission fluid.
