A child usually drools because their teeth are sprouting out of the gum just like a baby. A 2 year old still has the last back four molars to come out. If your child has all of his/her teeth and is still drooling, you may want to check with a pediatrician.

Drooling is usually associated with babies under the age of 12 months. Drooling takes place when babies are getting their first teeth in. A toddler of two should certainly not be drooling, a visit to the doctor would be in order.

Your child should not be excessively drooling at this age. You should consult his pediatrician about this problem. Sometimes excessive drooling can indicate developmental problems or even conditions like Autism.
