Wooden clothes hampers aren't going to attract bugs any more than any other, but wood does provide a perfect breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria when it gets wet, which it might if you put any wet laundry in it. I would suggest plastic to avoid this. It won't warp at all when wet.

A wooden clothes hamper can be a very attractive alternative to common plastic hampers. A wooden hamper made of cedar will not attract insects, but can even repel them.
