Should I have submandibular pain after a periodontal treatment?

It is possible that you may have some pain after treatment. The pain can be caused from having your mouth open for a long period of time. It is normal, take some ibuprofen.

It is very commong to have pain the jaw, they have to physically pull back the gums to do the treatment and you will be sore for awhile.

Yes sometimes submandibular pain can occur after periodontal treatment. In dentistry,while working with high speed air rotors ,air is accidentally forced into the underlying tissues leading to lacerations and swelling of the submandibular region thereby causing pain.

Most of time we suffer submandibular pain after a periodontal treatment which can be causes of pain in the jaws with toothache.
