Question by  Siryippity (19)

Should I cut out my toddler's nap?

He doesn't want to go to sleep at night.

Maybe, maybe not. Don't let nap go too late in day. Have a bedtime routine that is the same each night, and relaxing for toddler. Maybe bath, snack/breastfeed, brush teeth, stories, tuck in -whatever works for you both. Make the hour before bedtime peaceful and don't have lighting too bright.

Not all children require the same amount of sleep. If your toddler can not fall asleep at night, you may have to eliminate or shorten the mid day nap. Experiment.

He's not tired because he has had a nap and isn't ready to sleep again. Try a quiet time instead of a nap during the day.
