Not necessarily. Usually Doctors' orders a 3 hour glucose test to make sure that your not at risk of having gestational diabetes (a type of diabetes-commonly associated with pregnancy).

It is usually used for women who are pregnant to determine if they might have gestational diabeties (or diabeties while pregnant). While any test during pregnancy may cause stress or worry, this is a routine test during pregnancy.

It is really nothing to worry about. It is a test given to pregnant women to test for gestational diabetes. That is very treatable and does not cause birth defects. It normally goes away right after delivery. It is a test conducted over a 3 hour period to test your glucose.

Yes because before you will go thru a confirmatory test such as 3 hour glucose test with an hourly interval,you already were subjected to a glucose test that had positive for glucose result.So if a doctor ordered for another test,then its just for the purpose of checking if the first test is correct.
