Question by  sonja (15)

Should I be concerned if my cat's eye is watery?

I don't know if she scratched it while outside or what.

It depends on what breed of cat you have. In the breeds with pushed-in faces (think: Persians) the tear ducts have problems and it is very common for their eyes to water. Otherwise, it could be an injury, or it could be allergies. If your cat seems in discomfort, then you should be concerned.

You should not worry unless the lens starts to go opaque, or it appears she has an infection. If it does, take her to a vet and have them look at her. Otherwise, there is not really much that can be done. Your main concern would be if she got an infection or was experiencing distress.

Yes you should be concerned. This can mean possibly an eye infection. If the eye is watering after a few days and and then starts to leak green stuff out, take her to the vet or wipe her out with a warm washcloth every few hours.
