Should I be concerned about a wart on a 4 year old?

No I would not be concerned about it. But if the 4 year old gets any more warts then I would take him or her to see a doctor. A dermatologist can give th ebest advice.

People of all ages can get a wart. It's caused by a virus and can be easily treated so there is no cause for alarm. It can be treated by over-the-counter remedies or a physician.

Warts are caused by a virus, typically the human papillomavirus(HPV). HPV is contagious. There are many types of the virus, and a physician should see the wart your child has to determine its type and what should be done.

Yes, when I was 12, I had warts on my arm and one on my leg. I often neglected to put wart medicine on my leg so it remained when the others healed. Eventually they spread all over my leg and I now have scars from having them burned off.
