Should I be concerned about a very long contraction?

I don't believe so, no. There is little to be achieved by worrying or panicking about something that you have no control over. It does nothing but add stress to an already stressful situation. All you can do is follow all instructions given to you by the available medical professionals.

If you have a single, very long contraction, I don't think there is a cause for concern. However, if you have many of these I would certainly call your OB.

The closer you get to delivery the longer and more painful your contractions will be come. You shoudl contact your doctor to discuss your contractions or go to the L&D department of the hospital.

Yes'if your contractions are long means you need to hurry to the docter as your baby may be on its way. If your contractions are small means you need not panic. Call your docter and without hurry make your way to the docter. Long contraction means you are going to deliver soon.
