At first this may seem scary as this is one of the symptoms of cancer of the lymph nodes. However, oftentimes these swell simply because of the onset of a cold. If they hurt for more than 2 weeks then see your doctor!

Colds and the flu can cause your throat glands to hurt. Nasal dripping and the oxygen passing through the mouth can cause dryness which can also causes glands to hurt. Your pain may also be caused by an ifection, allergies, bacteria or even a tumor. If the duration of pain is more than five days, see a doctor.

You are probably fighting an infection -- there are many possibilities but mononucleosis is often suspected. Certain kinds of lymphomas also cause swollen, sore glands. If this symptom does not subside on its own after a brief period (3 to 5 days) you should see your doctor.

The hurting of throat gland may be due to infections. I mean throat infections. The throat infections occurs through drinking cold water, eating cold items and travelling out without protections in summer and rainy seasons. The other reason may be due to climate changes.
