Shedding and growing a new skin is a stressful time for a reptile. While it seems like they might need the calories, really there is to much going on for it to feel hunger. Give it some time, so long as it drinks.

An unfavorable environment, such as low humidity may cause the python to be uncomfortable as as a result induce stress, thus, cause a loss in appetite.

Many ball pythons do not eat as regularly as some owners may like, even if they are completely healthy. If the snake is an adult male, they regularly stay off feed during the winter months. This time is comparable to their breeding season in the wild.

For a python shedding and growing a new skin can be a very stressfull time for it. SO as long as it is drinking water it will be fine. As well in certain months it may not eat.
