Whipping cream contains 30 percent butterfat and will thicken when whipped. Heavy cream which contains about 36 percent butterfat whips up denser than whipping cream, actually doubling its volume.

Pretty much. Whipping cream is heavy cream that has been beaten until it forms peaks. It is often sweetened somewhat when used for desserts. Heavy cream is frequently used in cream sauces.

What dairy products are called has to do with fat content. Heavy cream has at least 36% milk fat or more. Whipping cream has at least 30-36% milk fat.

Yes. Heavy Cream is just a different name for Whipping Cream. The cream can be found in the Dairy Section at your local grocery store under either name. Whipping Cream is used in many desserts as well as dinner items such as Fettucini Alfredo or Shrimp Alfredo. Keep Chilled at all times.
