No. Vinyl is generic term that covers many different formulations of plastic and polymers. Chemicals and petroleum products make vinyl. Rubber is a natural product that comes from rubber trees. Then it's refined.

A vinyl compound is any organic compound that contains a vinyl group (or ethenyl). These are derivatives of ethene,with one hydrogen atom replaced with some other. It isnt rubber

Vinyl is not rubber. Rubber is stretchable, whereas vinyl is not. If anything, vinyl is probably more similar to leather.
