There is a great website called http://www. vetinfo. com where you can go to search for medical information and advice for your pets. However, any time your are getting information from an online source, it is best to check with your personal veterinarian.

There are many places online to get advice and while these places may be helpful they should not take the place of routine vet care. If you are ever unsure about something relating to your pet's health a simple phone call to your vet is often best.

While online sites can be helpful, no online diagnosis can be completely accurate. Vets need to see the animal to pick up on symptoms that you might have missed and get a feel for the condition. Relying on online forums or advice apart from basic questions can be fatal.

You can find a lot of information written by vets online, but this should never take the place of you going to see a vet in person with your pet.
