It can be a DIY project although I wouldn't reccomend it. You're better off getting a new fridge. If you must though I would consult with a professional. Perhaps at a local home depot or Lowes. Often they will give classes and instructionals on all kinds of home installation projects.

Yes this is a DIY project. All ice makers will come with detailed instructions The most important thing to do is to make sure that power is off
