Question by  Tami (16)

Is the Cuisinart mini-prep a good investment?

It seems like it might be easier to do small jobs by hand.

By the time you put it together and then clean it up after you are better off doing the jobs by hand. For chopping nuts I use an old fashion nut grinder and turn it by hand. I only use the mini prep for chopping onions, because its not hard on your eyes.

As a trained chef I like to do most of my prep work by hand and find that knives do a very good job but if you want a quick prep time than the mini prep is a good investment.

The Cuisinart mini-prep is a good investment if you are pressed for time when preparing meals or you no longer have the dexterity to chop by hand.

It sometimes is, but small Cusinarts can do these jobs even faster, chopping or mixing in mere seconds and letting you move qucikly to your next task.
