Consumer agency tested microwaveable plastic: found Rubbermaid, Tupperware both safe, w/no plasticizers leaking into products. Rubbermaid site shows which contain BPA; most don't. Now a new study found another problem plastic: Phthalates. Too new and inconclusive. No specific info regarding Rubbermaid and phthalates. It's in everything(even medical equipment). I don't use other plastics for food/drink, but feel Rubbermaid's fairly safe.
What about safety of older Rubbermaid Microwave cookware? White stackable sets prob from 80's? Numbers on pieces: 5151 - 5156? Any BPA or Phthalates? add a comment
