Mineral oil is good for the skin because it helps moisturize it and it keeps water from evaporating from the skin surface. It is an ingredient in most cosmetics because aside from retaining moisture, it prolongs the product's shelf life.

It is said that mineral oil can be use in removing make-up. Actually, this is not good for our skin because it doesn't allow our skin to breath. It's like covering or locking our skin. This is used in cosmetics because it's cheap.
