It is definitely worth buying Burpee Tomato seeds if that's what you want. Honestly, the best way to choose tomato seeds is to choose what you like. Burpee is a good seed company so it's hard to go wrong when you choose them. If you've never tried them before, try them. You could be pleasantly surprised.

It's not necessary. I buy Tomato seeds from Burpee every year and have never had a problem with their regular seeds. Especially if you are starting yours seeds indoors, you should be able to control the temperature and therefore protect your seeds from any heat. Burpee offers quality seeds that I have found to need nothing extra.

Unless you really like the taste or have had people from your area recommend them then I wouldn't bother buying special seeds. Usually they are just gimmicks anyway.
