No, actually this is a very hardy plant, but requires daily watering, particularly since it is a popular ground cover in the southwest- if it can survive there, I feel it is a very durable plant- you need to keep it trimmed and not over water.

a mexican heather will die easy because it is very picky with what it wants they like medium sunlight like in the shade but still getting some sun during the day. dont over water them either. they like it hot like at 70 throw 80 just make it hot but dont let it dry out
