File transfers from a PC to the PS3 are as safe as any other file transfer. Just be aware then game saves on a PC version of a game will not work for the PS3 version.

Generally no, these files (mostly from the internet) may have potential viruses or malware in then which can also damage or corrupt your PS3.

If it is from a reputable site then it should be safe. I would run it through a virus scanner just to be on the safe side.

It is absolutely safe to download a game save file from a computer to a Sony Playstation 3 system. Be careful not to overwrite an existing save file that you intend to keep. There is no risk of downloading a virus with a game save, so do not worry about it.
