If it is a backwards compat PS3 then the Hard-Drive automatically will store your save files for you. If it doesn't give you that option you need to go into your settings to turn on PS2 saves. Otherwise there is an adapter for PS2 Memory cards you can buy.

If your PS3 is backwards compatible, it will create a virtual save port and memory card that will be able to save your progress.

Yes you can save any ps2 game you are playing on a PS3. You need a memory card adapter to save to a ps2 card otherwise you just create a virtual memory card on the hard-drive and save to that. You can also import saves using the memory card utility.

Yes it is. However you're going to need the memory card adapter for the ps3. You can buy this at Gamestop. All you do is insert your ps2 memory card into it and you can save ps2 games.

Some games can be saved on a PS3, but most games are not backwards compatible which means that they can not be played on PS3. You have to get new games.

Yes this is possible, in order to accomplish this you must use the memory card utility within the PS3 Menu.

It possible to save game data not games themselves. Make sure you have enough room on your HD to save then you the memory card app to create a virtual card. Then assign it to a slot before you play the game and it will recognize it and let you save your game.
