A goat has to have given birth to be able to produce milk. Once the goat has a baby it has "freshened" and will start to produce milk. You will then be able to milk your goat without breeding her again.

You will be able to milk a goat that has recently had a kid or that has been continuously milked since the birth of the last kid. If you stimulate a goat enough, it is possible that one will come to her milk, but it is unlikely in those circumstances.

A doe could be forced to lactate by hormonal treatment, but ordinarily lactation occurs when the doe has a kid. You can milk her and keep her lactating until well after the kid is weaned. You do not have to breed her back to the buck for milk production.

Yes, but only if they've given birth in the past. It's just like any other animal in the Animal Kingdom. They only produce milk after they have given birth to a Kid. If the goat has not given birth anytime in the past they CAN NOT produce milk no matter how hard you try.

A goat starts producing milk right after she gives birth. She will only ever have to produce one offspring. It is also possible to give the goat hormone treatments so she will start to produce milk.
