p.S. Racism is based on fear of the unknown. Get to know a few people of the race you don't know. Chances are you'll like them. Remember--every race will have good and bad; so seek out the good persons--I guarantee you they exist. Racism is a choice--some Germans hid Jews!

There are people who would consider themselves "former racist" due to their different outlooks on people who they were once racist towards before. Some people have come to realize that racist stereotype that pertained to a certain race group doesn't exist when they have come in personal contact with that race group.

Yes. Attitude is everything. I respect you and applaud you for wanting to grow as a person--for confronting a character defect. If you practice the Golden Rule, you'll find it easier to shed your racist beliefs. Genuinely befriend someone on a personal level--you'll be amazed at yourself & your accomplishment.

Yes. Anyone can reform from their current state or belief system. The movie American History X starring Edward Norton and Edward Furlong is a perfect example of a reformed or ex racist.

It's probably once in a million shot. Racism is a learned behavior, usually from a young age. Most racists don't ever get over it.
