You can use high-efficiency detergent, but be very sure not to use too much. Check the suds level during your agitation cycle to make sure you have used the right amount of detergent. Be aware of the greasiness of your laundry, as that determines the amount of detergent you need.

It should be just fine to use the HE detergent. The only difference is you won't have many suds. You just can't use regular detergent with HE machines.

Using HE detergent is regular washers would not hurt your machine but it does not sud. Since it does not sud then it will not clean your clothes that well.

Generally, it would not be a good idea to use high efficiency detergent in regular washers because it will not clean the clothing as well as regular detergent.
