Sicilian is a Roman language that is used informally in Sicily by about 5 million people. It is not hte official language of the country, which has no official language. It is likely no more difficult to learn than any other Romance language, which requires years of study and practice.

The Sicilian language would be equally as difficult as Spanish or French. The younger you are, the less difficult learning a new language becomes. If you were willing to submerse yourself in the language, the average person could learn it.

Yes it is a bit difficult. Besides the fact that the dialect spoken in Sicily is a mixture of contemporary Italian and vernacular Latin and some dim influences from North Africa and Turkey, most verbs are irregular, nouns have genders thus a lot of learning by heart.
