The laws in Singapore are quite different than the laws in the US. Caning is a common punishment in Singapore. It is not really "spanking," but rather is more akin to whipping or lashing someone with a cat-o-nine-tails. In the US, state law allows parents to use "reasonable and appropriate physical force" to "correct" a child.
Spanking, even with a cane on the bare bottom, is legal in the U.S. You just can't leave a permanent injury. add a comment
