Your veterinarian is the only one who could make such a prognosis. The severity of the murmur will is important since there may be symptoms related to the murmur depending upon it's severity, such as luggishness and fatigue. The murmur may not even produce symptoms because it's so minor.

Murmurs are graded by severity. Depending on the grade of the murmur, most dogs live healthy, normal lives. Did your Vet mention the severity? Is your dog a puppy? Some puppies are born with murmurs (called congential murmurs) and outgrow them later in life.
