Is a 1991 Lumina a good choice for a teen's first car?

The body is in great shape and I can do simple auto repair.

Yes, I do think a 1991 Lumina is a good choice. First of all, it's 19 years old so if something were to happen to it your loss wouldn't be significant. Second of all, the older model vehicle would mean cheaper insurance on your part. Last but not least, it's not as fast a newer vehicle.

Eh that's almost 20 years old. Although you can do simple auto repair, if you are buying it from someone you never know what kind of problems will arise later. It's not hard to find a decent inexpensive car if you take the time to look. Better to be safe than sorry.

The 1991 Lumina is a good car , and it can be a good choice for a teen's car but it all depends on the teen's tastes.

No, unless you want to embarass your poor child.

It could be a good car assuming that the engine and transmission is in good shape. Do a good inspection before buying it. I would go with a smaller car though like a cavalier. Not only is it easier to drive but parts are easier to find.
