A 3. 5 on a 4 point scale is a very good GPA, but not necessarily great. It indicates the student's GPA to be between a B+ and A- average, which is better than a C average. However, a great GPA indicates excellence, which is usually between 3. 7 and a perfect 4.0.

A gpa of 3. 5 is generally considered to be good, if not great. Using a scoring system of A=4, B=2, C=3. D=2, a 3. 5 would be between an A and a B average. In most high schools, it would earn a place in the school honor society. At college level, it would be enough to retain a scholarship.
