In Indiana, is there a black beetle that hisses?

I cannot convince people that I have seen this kind of bug.

There are very few hissing insects, so you probably saw a variety Longhorn beetle. Many of them are pests of some sort.

i think it is highly impossible because weather condition in Indiana is not good for these insects. so cool that was something else

In Indiana there are black beetle which are also called as fire beetles or fire bugs. These are half inches beetles. These beetles flies to forest fire. This is requirement for their reproduction. These beetles can identify fire from long disatance. Receptors on their bodies can detect infrared rediations.
