As a history buff, visiting Pennsylvania presents a wealth of options, but here are my top three. Valley Forge and Independence National Parks and a drive through Amish farm country carry one back in time, and each is a peaceful and wonderful excursion.

Pennsylvania is a great state to visit, from the historical sites in Philadelphia (Liberty Bell) to the whitewater rafting in the western part of the state. The Pocono Mountains offer four seasons of fun, while the Amish area of Lancaster County is very interesting.

Make plans to visit in and around the Amish Country for a unique look at a culture offering a unique perspective in today's fast-paced life. There's also the Hershey Chocolate Factory that's a great visit when children are along for the trip. History buffs interested in war period history will also find a host of interesting sites.

While you are in PA, if you like chocalate Hershey park is a fun place to visit lots of rides and of course plenty of chocalate. Of course going to see the liberty bell in Philly is also very nice.
