That really depends on the quality of the website from where you are sending. A lot of times if they are able to offer you a free service then they will make money via spamming. If you pay for a server however, generally there will be no additional spam sent to your recipient.

Yes, usually the sites terms includes sharing my contacts information with partner companies so that's why I tend to send cards in person.
