If I accidentally set off a store alarm can I get into trouble?

If you can prove that it was an accident, then you should be okay, but if it happens too many times, then you will start to look like a criminal.

It depends on the circumstances under which the alarm was triggered. If you did it by accident in work hours and went back to explain, there's almost always no issue.

You are not likely to get in trouble for setting off a store alarm unless you have actually taken something! There are cameras thoughout most stores anymore and they can see if you have indeed caused the alarm to go off for good reason. If it is truly an accident, they most likely know it is an accident.
