If, after cooling, cherry pies baked according to the formula are dry and too brown, what is the problem?

The cherry pies were probably cooked too long or sometimes your oven cooks hotter than what it states on the temperature dial.

Dry and brown cherry pies can mean too much sugar is in the recipe, or that the oven was too hot. The best thing to do is to try a different recipe, or check your altitude and make altitude adjustments to the amount of liquid and baking time, as some things bake differently at high altitudes.
