I just got a rubber tree that is spindly and falling over. Can I cut it back and start over?

Cut it back, but leave a few leaves, which is how the plant manufacturers its nourishment. You might add some fresh soil and water it well, but do not feed a sick plant. It is falling over because the cells in the truck have collapsed, prob from dehydration. Be gentle.
