I just found out that I am pregnant and have been taking topamax birth control, should I be concerned?

I want to make sure the topamax I took did not hurt my baby.

If you stop taking the birth control as soon as you find you are pregnant that is all you can do. There is no reason to worry.

Immediately stop taking the topamax birth control pills. I do not think that you should be concerned about the baby because if it was going to hurt the baby you would not have got pregnant. Check with your doctor to see about supplements that you can take that will help your baby.

To completely ensure the health of yourself and your baby, immediately see your doctor. Any birth control can have negative affects on pregnancy, and even cause miscarriage if used after conception. Chances are that both of you are fine, but until you see a doctor you can't know.

If you are very early on in your pregnancy then there is nothing to be concerned about. Make certain that you discontinue use of the medication and mention it on your next doctors appointment. In early pregnancy your baby is not receiving nutriments from the mother yet, therefore you should not be concerned.

I would stop taking the birth control, I would say at the early stage that it wouldn't affect the baby but always check with your doctor to make sure.
