When you engage the four wheel drive it will make the front harder to turn. Normally the wheel simply roll along freely making turn easier. When in 4wd the front diff engages the axles drive the wheel. So you have to fight this extra force when you turn.

Well it is normal for steering to be heavier when a car is in 4-wheel drive. When it is not engaged the front wheels are allowed to turn at separate speeds allowing for tighter turns. When engaged the front differential engages the axles and the front wheels begin to pull keeping one wheel from slowing down much.

so just slow down, and turn wider? When I am in parking lots is when I notice it most, really feels like im putting a strain on my truck, which is a ford f350.  add a comment

That is normal when you have the $ wheel drive on, you have to remember that the front wheel are trying to go in a different direction then the back wheels and that causes a "jerking" only lock in 4WD on sand or snow not on pavement

Under drive load, the joints in the front axle might be stiffer than when coasting in two wheel drive, which would make the steering a little heavier. If it's very difficult to the point of being dangerous, have your dealership service the front axle/suspension/steering.

When you engage it the wheels used to turn get locked into the differential. This makes them harder to move. You should leave it out of four wheel drive.

maybe you have a bad turning instinct in 4wd because in 4wd everytires is moving on the same time, diferrent with the other witch only moving with 2 tires

As far as i think there must a lack of oilimg in the wheel baringz in the stearing of your 4x4 vehicle and you have to show it to any good mechanic of 4x4 vehicles.
