either get a professional massage, or have a friend/spouse give you one. use oils like a pro if ur doing it at home. it helps the hands to move better and slide over the affected area.

Put an ice pack on the knot for approximately thirty seconds. Then replace it with a heat pad and rest it there for about two minutes. Repeat for twenty minutes.

One of the reasons for your pain may be your posture, or the way you're positioning your body. Sitting with your head forward and, your shoulders rounded can cause this pain. Try not doing both of these things and sitting straight which is a healthy upper body exercise.

You can relieve this knot yourself buy massaging yourself, if it is in an area that you cannot reach or you are afraid to do it yourself, ask someone else to rub or massage the knot, it will de-tensify the mucsle. It may still hurt but not as bad after you massage it a little.

To get rid of a knot in you muscle try getting a massage- professional or from a loved one. Also try heat, especially moist heat such as in a shower or hot tub.

I would start by taking Advil. That works best for me. Never massage it, it will only make it worse. I would be on Advil for about 3 or more days, until it is almost gone.
