I got an official reprimand from the human resources department where I work, should I just quit my job?

If you were written up, go and look into the mirror. Take an ownership and start performing. Stop blaming others for your own mistakes and failuers and pull your act together. You either meet expectation on the job and do it daily or not. Hold yourself accountable.

Don't quit!!!! Ride the wave out. If you quit you are not eligible for Unemployment Benefits! It might be a real hassle to go to a job where you know some people aren't happy with you, but at least your getting a paycheck!

if you quit you cant draw unemployment. i work in hr, you gotta be like 2 or 3 in before they will fire you. most companies are scared of legal stuff after firing an employee.

It's usually a poor idea to quit your job without having another one lined up. In this case, it also makes you look guilty and unprofessional, something you want to avoid, particularly now. Instead, buckle down and start looking.

If you feel you have been wrongly accused you should question thte reprimand. If it was deserved just try and learn from your mistake.

If the reprimand wasn't written, I wouldn't quit but I'd be more cautious in the future. If the reprimand was in written form, probably it would be better to quit and start looking for another job. Nevertheless, I'd talk to my boss first in order to get another chance.

I'd start looking for another job if I were you, but it's going to be tough with today's economy. You wouldn't want to wait until you were fired because it will make it all the harder to get another job. Whenever you get a formal reprimand, you're under too much scrutiny .

If you enjoy your current job, make a concerted effort to do a better job while addressing the issues in your reprimand. Stay calm, show up on time, and do a good job. An official reprimand doesn't necessarily mean the end, but you must respond accordingly.
