Carbon buildup is easily removed with a steel wool pad. Take the pad and gently scrape across the buildup surface, as harsh removal may scratch the underlying surface.

Take smooth or medium sand paper. Use sand paper as scrubber on the carbon. Carbon will be coming out normaly.
