Even though that particular root should be dead, a dentist will need to fix your tooth as soon as possible. The dentist will tell you if the tooth can be saved or if it will need to be removed. This is serious, if you don't see a dentist right away, then you could develop a life threatening infection.

A tooth that has been root canal treated is more brittle than a live tooth. Porcelain crowns are often recommended after a root treatment to act as a sort of "helmet" for the damaged tooth. Be aware that fractures occassionally occur at a root level and may require either specialist treatment or even extraction (removal).

once the root canal is performed the nerve is out from tooth and the tooth become fragile and brittle and there are high chances that it can break. in order to save the tooth, first step is to put a post pin and build up the tooth and then prepare is for crown and put a crown on the treated tooth.

You will not be able to fix this tooth yourself. If the crown is broken, you will need to go back to your dentist.
