A dog's urine will kill grass and the more your dogs walk on it, the more it will disappear. Therefore, rock and gravel would be your best bet for landscaping.

Landscaping your back yard is always a daunting task. If you have animals you are going to want to pick plants that are hearty and can withstand the dogs. You should have a place for the dogs to play and run and a place where you can relax. You'll probably need a large grassy area fr the dogs too.
