Cats have instinctive understanding of litter boxes. Watch, especially after meals, catch the kitten when it starts sniffing for a place to relieve itself and put it in the box.

Start with an open box(no lid). Every time it has an 'accident', put the poop in the box and show the cat. Put the cat in it after eating.

Kittens are smart and like to be clean. Put her in the litterbox a few times and she will quickly learn to use it. Keep it in the same place.

Cats are easier to train because they like using litter boxes. Just periodically put the kitten into the box after meals and when it needs to use the box.
