Depends on the level of your current skill, and the severity of the damages that need to be repaired. If you don't feel up to the task or you consider yourself a novice it might be best to have a mechanic or a tech you trust do the work for you.

Locate the closest wall attached area around the repair area. They are not studs, but a smaller board. Gently pry the area away, and replace the paperboard with new.
