When Elderhostel began there was an age requirement of 55+. But In 2009, Elderhostel decided to get rid of all age requirements. They now accept over 100,000 adults every year of all ages and operate in over 90 countries. More information on Elderhostel may be found under the name Exploritas.

Elderhostel has recently relaxed their age requirements. The program used to be available to ages 55 and older, but has now allowed people of any age to apply.

Originally, Elderhostel did have an age minimum of 60 years old, but in the 1990's, the age minimum dropped to 55. Currently, there is no set age minimum. Instead, the organization simply states that the program is intended for adults.

In the begining there was an age limit of 55+ but now Elderhostel decided to require of all age so people of any age can apply foe Elderhostel. Instead of this the organization simply states that the program is only for adults.Many country have started this opportunity for adult persons.

There are no age limitations at Elderhostel. Elderhostel recently dropped the age requirement simply stating the program is "For Adults".
