The bleeding should decrease gradually after a hysterectomy and should taper off by about 6-8 weeks. Within one month of the surgery, pain should be well-controlled with over-the-counter meds.

Spotting and cramping originate from your uterus, which will be removed in the surgery. You will be sore from the surgery, but you shouldn't have these symptoms at all.

A hysterectomy is major surgery, with a recovery period of several weeks to months, and many possible after effects. In the first week after surgery, you can expect vaginal bleeding, changing to spotting that resolves within a few months. Uterine cramping (similar to menstrual cramps) should not occur after hysterectomy.

To be honest, you can expect a lot of cramping and spotting. It should last for a 3 day period and after that get your medicines to recover well from it.

There should be mild spotting from the surgical incision that was made to remove your uterus/cervix. As far as cramping, there shouldn't be any cramping as the uterus is gone.

You are expected to have minimal spotting and mild to moderate abdominal cramps up to a month after hysterectomy operation.

Well, from my experience -- none unless something is going wrong. You should especially avoid intercourse for at least 3 weeks. You can tear inside if you have it anytime sooner.

After a hysterectomy you will have minimal cramping, however you will have some bleeding for two to three weeks depending on the type of hysterectomy that you have. If you experience anything unusual you should consult with your doctor or call the emergency room to ensure that everything is okay.
